Characterization of Collagen in Human Pancreas, Breast and Lung with Polarization Resolved Second Harmonic Generation Microscopy

Abstract

Collagen organization in healthy and cancerous pancreatic, breast and lung tissues were investigated using polarization-dependent second harmonic generation microscopy. The imaging technique differentiated between tumor and non-tumor samples, and could be applied in cancer diagnostics.
