Photoacoustic imaging of biopotentials: a feasibility study

Abstract

Photoacoustic imaging (PAI) of biopotentials relies on transient absorption of light by voltage sensitive probes. PAI is less susceptible to optical scattering in tissue, which makes it an attractive noninvasive alternative to fluorescence-based voltage sensing.
