Multicolor Genetically-Encoded Calcium-Sensitive Bioluminescent Reporters of Neural Activity for Brain-Machine Interfaces

Abstract

Adeno-associated virus was used to express a mix of different colored, aequorin-fluorescent proteins in mouse cortex. Neural activity produced bioluminescence with spectral properties that changed with different stimulation.
