Interferometric Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (iNIRS) Monitors Optical Properties and Blood Flow In Vivo

Abstract

We present a new optical modality called interferometric Near-Infrared Spectroscopy (iNIRS), which measures time-of-flight- (TOF-) resolved field autocorrelations in turbid media, enabling both optical and dynamical properties to be quantified. The iNIRS method is described, validated, and demonstrated in vivo in the brain.
