Use of the CO2 laser in surgery of tumors of the head, neck, and other soft tissue

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

The CO2 laser has been used as a surgical tool for excision and ablation of tissue for over ten years. The ability to perform surgery with minimal bleeding, direct visualization of the lesion, and sealing of the lymphatics has made the CO2 laser an excellent tool for surgery. Applications of this laser to head and neck surgery will be described.
