Abstract
Multiphoton ionization has become a sensitive technique for the detection and study of trace concentration of atoms and molecules. With the resolution of lasers, molecules with different isotopes can be selectively ionized. If these molecules are ionized in a mass spectrometer, the selectivity of the mass spectrometer can be greatly increased.
