Abstract

Observations of large (106) enhancements of Raman cross sections for molecules adsorbed onto roughened silver surfaces have attracted considerable interest. The enhancements allow easy detection of submonolayer coverages of molecules on surfaces and offer the possibility of using Raman spectra to obtain detailed information about molecules on surfaces.
