Abstract
The use of fibers in laser cavities widens the functional possibilities of a laser as an instrument and offers considerable scope for laser parameter control. In particular, this relates to such fiber properties as high sensitivity to external forces, the possibilities of varying, quasi-statically or dynamically, the length and the shape of a fiber laser resonator and using various nonlinear phenomena.
