Materials issues in future advanced thermal imaging sensors

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

The potential for high density monolithic or hybrid detector arrays promises substantial advances in both spatial and temporal resolution, compared with that achieved in today’s most sophisticated thermal imaging systems. Materials and fabrication issues will be discussed which may present a substantial barrier to the achievement of this potential.
