Earth observations using radar and electrooplics systems on board the Space Shuttle

Abstract

In Nov. 1981, the shuttle Columbia carried its first scientific payload into earth orbit. This payload included a shuttle image radar (SIR-A) which acquired images over numerous regions around the world.
