Abstract

For the successful birth of a new product generation, generally a new technology must be available. Digital optical recording (DOR) is a rapidly growing technological mix of optics, mechanics, servo techniques, recording materials, and modulation and error correction techniques with this potential. The DOR system is the first product based on this technology that enables widespread mass storage of digital data.
