Abstract
In the recent development of optical sensors, the sensors of electric quantities are the center of interest. Many kinds of sensor of electric quantities have been developed; e.g., optical fibers and some kinds of dielectric crystal are used. A new concept of a versatile optical sensor for electric quantities, such as voltage, current, and power, by using only one crystal of bismuth silicon oxide (BSO) is pro- posed and experimentally developed. Bismuth silicon oxide crystal has been used for switches1,2 and voltage sensors.
