Abstract
The existence of very Intense pump sources, such as die discharge from an electrically exploded wire, suggests consideration of single-aperture single- pulse high-energy laser systems. The pulse duration lies In the multimicrosecond region, which is sufficiently long that complex chemistry and gas- dynamic motion can occur to affect beam quality. In this presentation we will concentrate on the I laser with contrast made to HF and XeO where noteworthy. in general our model consists of a cylindrically symmetric laser medium and surrounding Lambertian pumping surface characterized by a blackbody emission temperature, typically near 35,000 K.
