Abstract
Although the TmiYAG laser was discovered in 1965, little work has been done to characterize this laser. Here both the normal-mode Q-switched characteristics as well as the tuning characteristics are reported. In addition, the Tm:YAG laser was made to lase cw. The laser was then frequency- doubled with an efficiency of ~0.15 using a LiNbO3 crystal.
