Abstract
The Nova alignment system guides the three operating wavelengths of the Nova laser through the ten chains of components to focus onto the target. The diagnostics characterize the energy, temporal, and spatial properties of the beam at various stages along its propagation path. Together these systems perform the angular alignment tuning of the crystal array which converts the 120 kj of 1.06-/tm drive to 80 kJ of 0.53 /tm (2w0) or 70 kj of 0.35 /an (3&>0).
