Abstract

Study of temporal and spectral characteristics of long-wavelength single-longitudinal-mode InGaAsP semiconductor lasers under high-frequency direct modulation provides important information for using such lasers in long-distance high-bandwidth single-mode fiber communication. The high-frequency (1-8-GHz) modulation characteristics of single-longitudinal-mode InGaAsP injection lasers based on the short-coupled-cavity (SCC) mode-selection technique is reported.1
