Abstract

Our first attempt at laser acupuncture (LAP) application in oncology dealt with a reduction of cigarette smoking and nicotine abstinence symptoms in patients with lung cancer at the preoperational management stage.1 This was preceded by animal experiments conducted at our laboratory beginning in 1979 for studying anticancerogenic action of low-energy He-Ne laser radiation as well as LAP influence on the tumor metastasizing process. In addition, experiments were conducted on the He-Ne laser radiation application for cancer pain relief.
