Grazing-incidence dye laser: current status

Abstract

Recently a modified form of the grazing-incidence pulsed dye laser was described.1 This new form is virtually identical to the previous one2 except that care was taken to create a compact geometrical arrangement of elements that assured a well-defined optical path. The major changes were the adoption of longitudinal pumping, the use of a much smaller flowing dye cell (2-mm path length), and an increase in the fractional portion of the cavity occupied by the diffraction grating.
