Laser surface treatment of H13 tool steel

Abstract

H13 hot forming tool steel has been surface treated with a 2.5-kW CO2 laser, and parts have been used in regular production in automatic hot formers. Both punches with curved surfaces and tools with flat surfaces have been treated.
