Abstract

Real-time correction of wave front distortions induced by atmospheric propagation or mechanical disturbance of an optical chain can be achieved with servo control of a laser beam by a continuous COAT. To reduce the number of free parameters and thus the complexity and cost of the control loops of the COAT, it is convenient to deform the membrane according to selected modes, matched to the type of perturbation to be corrected.
