Laser emission of LiPrP4O12 single crystal

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Lasers working on high lanthanide concentrated crystals like tetraphosphate and pentaphosphate has been a subject of investigations in recent years. In this paper we report a preliminary investigation of spectroscopic and laser properties of LiPrP4O12 crystal. We have measured absorption and emission spectra of the crystal and fluorescence decay times at the 3P0 level. On the basis of results of the measurements it has been found that the Pr3+ ion has two different positions in the crystal.
