Abstract
High-power CO2 lasers have been used in various industrial fields. Their high-power density of output beam is especially effective in metal processing when a small heat-affected zone is required. In this paper an outline of a CO2 laser system we have developed for a steel production plant is used as a continuous coil buildup welding system in the pickling line.
