Abstract
Magnetostatic waves (MSWs) are low-velocity (~105-m/sec), radio-frequency (1-20-GHz) waves which propagate in ferrite materials (e.g., YIG) biased by externally applied magnetic fields. To circumvent shape factor demagnetization effects in the material which cause unacceptable variations in the MSW propagation properties, thin-film geometries are employed, and the MSW acquires guided-wave characteristics.
