Scaling and plasma diagnostic studies of Sr+ and Ca+ recombination lasers

Abstract

Discharge-excited Sr+ and Ca+ recombination lasers are potentially efficient high mean power sources in the violet and ultraviolet.1 We report results of volume and repetition rate scaling experiments and plasma diagnostics with longitudinally excited (LE) Sr+ and Ca+ recombination lasers.
