Abstract
The characterization of soft x-ray emission from laser plasmas produced from high atomic number targets is of interest in a number of applications of laser-produced x rays. Toward gaining a better understanding of the interaction, transport and hydrodynamic processes involved, detailed measurements of the x-ray emission can be compared to the predictions of hydrodynamic and atomic physics codes.
