Abstract
Digital audiodisk (DAD) technology was first reported in 1977 using conventional techniques based on optical videodisk systems. A digital audiodisk is, in all respects, more convenient than a conventional LP recording system. The adaptation of the DAD system has generated a large commercial demand for semiconductor lasers for the first time.
