Abstract
An industrial high-pressure sealed cw CO2 5-kW laser has been developed. A stable resonator and an unstable resonator were used for power extraction. This is a new pin-to-plate electrode configuration with 1.1-m discharge length and a 40-mm discharge gap. The gas flow velocity of 50 m/sec at the discharge region was obtained with lower than 12,000 rpm.
