Wavelength control of diode lasers with close-coupled passive cavities

Abstract

Wavelength control of high-power modulated AlGaAs lasers presents a significant problem for their use in large-bandwidth free-space communication links. A method of control we have found to show considerable promise is the double-resonant external cavity illustrated in Fig. 1.
