Optical associative holographic memories

Abstract

Several novel types of optical associative memory are reported. These are memories in which a stored piece of information can be retrieved whole when the probing input is only partially complete. The memory somehow finds that stored message, among many, which most closely resembles the input and puts it out.1–3
