Abstract

The Australian Industrial Research and Development Incentives Board has contracted the Laser Applications Group at the University of New South Wales to perform research to establish the feasibility of the application of lasers in certain industrial processes. The budget for the project which commenced in 1984 is $A 2 million. Six industrial processes are to be studied under the program. It is possible to report on the success of one of the studies and on the proposals for a pilot plant.
