Abstract
Krypton fluoride (KrF) lasers are promising candidates for inertial confinement fusion (ICF) drivers. The 248-nm KrF wavelength couples efficiently to fusion targets; the KrF medium is scalable to high pulse energy, has high intrinsic efficiency, and the potential for high repetition rate operation.
