Second harmonic conversion of multi-mode lasers in KTP

Abstract

Many high-average-power lasers currently in development operate with divergent outputs. Standard frequency conversion materials like KD*P do not perform efficiently due to small acceptance angles. A slab geometry laser or phase conjugation may reduce divergence, but a nonlinear material with large acceptance angle is desirable for many applications.
