Room-Temperature Excitonic Optical Nonlinearities of MBE Grown ZnSe Thin Films

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Large optical nonlinearities have been observed in MBE grown thin films of ZnSe at room temperature. Comparison with a plasma theory indicates that exciton saturation and broadening are the responsible mechanisms for the nonlinearity.
