Abstract

To generate subpicosecond pulses in the UV, the frequency-doubled output of synchronously pumped dye lasers with subsequent pulse compression or CPM dye lasers was used after amplification of a switched out single pulse in several stages pumped by either a frequency-doubled Nd:YAG or excimer laser.
