Abstract
We review a scaling model which permits approximate prediction of the dependence of ablation pressure, mechanical coupling coefficient, and related parameters in vacuum on single pulse laser intensity l, wavelength λ, and pulse width τ over extremely broad ranges. The model is valid for the intensity above the plasma ignition threshold and for metallic and nonmetallic endothermic surface-absorbing planar targets.
