Abstract

We have developed computer software for solving the equations satisfied by time-dependent stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS). The coupled equations satisfied by the pump field, Stokes field, and mass density of the acoustic wave are solved in the slowly varying envelope approximation in which the second derivatives with respect to time and longitudinal propagation distance are neglected.
