Abstract
The vacuum ultraviolet fluorescence from ionic alkali halide excimer molecules (A2+X−) has been observed in a laser-produced plasma. The ionic alkali halide excimers are isoelectronic to the rare gas halide excimers (Rg+X−) but are expected to radiate at shorter wavelengths on the A2+X−(2∑,B) → A+X(2∑, X) transition.1
