Abstract
A high-performance and practical ultrashort-pulse dye laser system for use in femtosecond spectroscopy is presented. For experimental study of the basic features of the new method of transient nonlinear spectroscopy1 compared with the conventional one in the femtosecond region, it is necessary to have a reliable laser source capable of producing both transform-limited and clean linear-chirped pulses.
