Abstract

Photorefractive semiconductors are attracting increasing research interests for their uses in optoelectronic devices operating at wavelengths compatible with solid-state lasers. Extended efforts are currently directed toward achieving high nonlinearities in wave mixing experiments. However, limited performances were reported concerning the optical gain coefficients in electrooptic III–V1,2 and II–VI3 compounds.
