Abstract

The need for nonintrusive diagnostic techniques in combustion research has made different laser spectroscopic techniques with high temporal as well as spatial resolution very important. Perhaps the most important laser techniques for combustion diagnostics are coherent anti-Stokes Raman scattering (CARS) and laser-induced fluorescence (LIF). In this paper some new developments of these techniques are discussed.
