Abstract
Multichannel single-mode lasers are useful in many applications including printing and optical recording. In addition, high power single-mode lasers will greatly impact the system performance of many of these applications. We present data on dual channel lasers that operate up to 140 mW in a single transverse and longitudinal mode with minimal crosstalk in a p-side up mounting configuration. Single channel lasers of similar design, but mounted p-side down, have demonstrated extrapolated lifetimes in excess of 60,000 h.
