Abstract

Ablation of burn eschar (necrotic skin) by various excimer laser irradiations is described. The burn eschar which is generated on heavily burn-injured skin may cause a fatal infectious disease to a burn-injured patient, so it is necessary to remove completely this burn eschar as soon as possible to perform skin graft—the only treatment to save the patient.
