Abstract

Both high power glass laser systems and slab glass lasers developed in recent years require an active medium with excellent laser performance and good thermomechanical properties.1-3 For the glass, strength increases and the thermal expansion coefficient decreases by introducing B2O3 into phosphate glasses; the borophosphate glass might be a new type of promising laser active medium with good thermal stability.
