STIMULATED BRILLOUIN SCATTERING OF A REPETITION PULSE HIGHER AVERAGE POWER LASER

Abstract

Possibilities are studied of using SBS to form a single- mode single-frequency radiation of a repetition pulse solid- state laser. Schemes of compensation for aberration and polarization distortions of the wavefront, involving a quarter-wave plate, Faraday cell and two-beam SBS are analysed and compared in [1]. The analysis has been done for a variety of fields in the form +=ef¯ which have a weak dependence of the complex polarisation vector e on the transverse coordinates. In this case the wave reflected from a Brillouin mirror takes the form: ε=conste.f¯*.
