Abstract
Well-ordered thin films of 2-docosylamino-5-nitropyridine (DCANP) have been prepared by the Langmuir-Blodgett (LB) technique.1-2 The transparency range extends from 400 to at least 2000 nm. The dependence of the second harmonic intensity on the polarization of the incident fundamental wave was measured for different film thicknesses. We observed a strong anisotropy with a much stronger intensity of the frequency doubled wave for an incoming beam polarized along the dipping direction than perpendicular to it. This anisotropy can already be observed for a monolayer.
