Abstract

The XeF(C➙A) laser has a unique broadband tuning range in the blue-green. Previous investigations have shown that the short pulse (10-ns) electron-beam excited XeF(C➙A) medium exhibits a relatively high gain over a broad spectral range from 450 to 530 nm. Recent scaling experiments have demonstrated an energy density of 1.8 J/liter and an intrinsic efficiency of 1.5% at a wavelength of 486.8 nm.1 The performance of a repetitively pulsed scaled XeF(C A) laser system is described.
