Picosecond time-resolved LIF in the flame front of premixed and diffusion flames

Abstract

Many flame investigations employ laser-induced fluorescence for the sensitive detection of transient species in combustion processes, particularly for temperature and concentration measurements. However, time-resolved measurements of quenching and relaxation are needed to correct measured intensities for collisional effects. We determine these effects directly by measuring the effective fluorescence lifetimes in the flames of interest.
