Abstract
We report the operation and the characteristic of a completely sealed boron nitride (BN) waveguide CO2 laser with an operating time 400 h.1-3 BN ceramic has a high thermal conductivity of 0.16 cal cm/cm2 sec °C. The greatest possible rate of transfer of heat from the discharge is required to maximize tuning range and output power of the waveguide CO2 laser, hence a high thermal conductivity ceramic is used for the discharge tube.
