Abstract

Previously, we reported laser action in more than fifty ionic and atomic laser lines using electron-beam excitation of helium- metal Vapor plasmas. However, cw laser action by electron-beam excitation was limited to the IR and visible regions of the spectrum and to the use of helium as the major atomic component of the gain medium.1,2
