Abstract

Diode laser pumped solid state lasers are efficient compact sources of near IR coherent radiation. Frequency doubling (SHG) generates intense laser light ~530 nm. The standard SHG method is intracavity doubling using KTP as a nonlinear crystal. Up to 180 mW of 532-nm radiation have been obtained in this way with a longitudinally diode laser pumped Nd:YAG laser.1 Another method for SHG of such lasers is the rise of a monolithic external resonator of MgO:LiNbO3, (Ref. 2); 53 mW of 1.064 μm were converted to 30 mW at 532 nm.
